ASSAWAN - SPA AND HEALTH CLUB

Within the 18th floor of the Burj Al Arab is the Assawan Spa, a lavishly decorated, private health and fitness facility, named after the stone known for its purity and healing properties.

The extravagent decor is reminiscent of the bathing pools used by ancient Middle Eastern civilisations, while its range of treatments and products are drawn from the far corners of the earth - offering the ultimate pampering and personal care for all guests.

Its interior was inspired by the magnificent ruins of petra in Jordan, and provides a latter-day wonder of the world where mosaic columns line the indoor swimming pools and jacuzzi baths. While marble, granite and richly coloured tiles enhance the sumptuous theme.

Seperate men's and women's facilities offer complete seclusion for guests seeking either relaxing or reviving treatments in the hands of the most highly trained professional.

Female visitors take to the waters of Katr Enada, a pool named for dew drops, while each of the nine private rooms is named after exquisite feminine perfumes such as Yasmyna, Meska, Allaylac and more.

For male guests, the Ma' Sama' pool takes its name from ''water of the sky'' , while masculine fragrances provide names for the nine treatment rooms with the aroma of sandalwood, aloe and saffron evoked by the Arabic designations, Assandal, Aludah and Zaefran.
