Taiping Zoo.

Museum, Kuala Kangsar
Previously knownas Istana Lembah, the Perak Royal Museum
is an amazing architectural that requires no nails and
was built as a royal residence in 1926.

Sam
Poh Tong Temple located within the huge limestone caves
of Gunung Rapat, the Sam Poh Tong Temple with various
statues of Buddha sitting among natural stalactites and
stalagmites. There is also a vegetarian restaurant, a
wishing well and a tortoise (symbol of longevity) pond
on site.

Paradise
Citrus Grandis, King of citrus fruits. The pomelo is divided
into 10-15 segments of juice-filled sacs. It is usually
sweet and juice. Pomelos are seedless citrus fruits usually
the size of a soccer ball, and are grown exclusively in
Perak state.

Gua
Tempurung
Dating back to eight thousand (8,000) B.C. the largest
limestone cave in Peninsular Malaysia stretches for 1.9
kilometers and is made up of five huge domes. Each dome
has different formations of stalagmites and stalactites.

Kellie's
Castle
The incomplete dream of Scottish planter William Kellie
Smith, Kellie's Castle is believed to have secret rooms
and underground tunnels. Building began in 1915 and stopped
in 1926 with the sudden death of its owner.

The
River Terrapin (Tuntung) Breeding Centre was opened in
1967 by the State's Dept of Wildlife and National Parks.
Between November and March, visitors can witness migrating
river terrapins laying eggs in the wilds.

Pasir
Salak Historical Complex traces the history of Malaya
through its 42 dioramas. Here too, stands the memorial
dedicated to the first British Resident in Perak, J.W.W.
Birch, who was assassinated by Dato' Maharaja Lela Dato'
Sagor and Si Puntum.
