MAJOR SEASONS
Winter
(Dec-Jan)
Very pleasant throughout. In Northern India the nights are cool. In southern India it is pleasantly warm with occasional rain in November. In North India one needs light tweed or woolens. For rest of India light clothing will suffice.
Spring
(Feb-Mar)
Getting warmer. Due to tropical weather one only needs light woolens.
Summer
(Apr-Jun)
Generally excessively warm in the North and Central India for a few weeks. Only cottons or tropical clothing is needed for the summers.
Monsoon
(July-Sep)
Rainfall is generally widespread, heavy along the west coast and in the foothills of the Himalayas. Raincoats and umbrellas are a must.
Autumn
(Oct-Nov)
Pleasantly warm. Light rain in the South. Tropical clothing and light woolens will suffice.
