Gassan Khuntan Golf & Resort is a 18-holes international standard golf course with stunning views, peaceful and tropical surrounded by carefully designed and well-tended landscaping that emphasizes and enhances the natural panoramic mountain views. Located in the highly scenic Northern part of Thailand and 500 meters above sea level, it is surrounded by mountain and highland forest. This buggy course area is hill side combined with partial flat terrain with big lake which lies along the Mae-Ta river.
The Royal Chiangmai Golf Resort opened in February 1996. The course was designed by 5 times British Open Champion, Peter Thompson of Thompson Wolveridge and Perrett, covering 2,000 rias of the former fruit orchard. The course is not particularly long, measuring 6969 yards from the pro tees, so you need more accuracy than length. This makes the course challenging for amateurs and professionals. The scenery is surrounded by the breathtaking panoramic view of the mountains in the distance. There are yardage markers at 150 and 100 yards from the green. The greens are of tifdwarf while the fairways, tee boxes and rough are of 419 Bermuda grass.
The course opened December 24, 2005 and located next to is the hills east of Chiang Mai. Chiangmai Highlands is located 30 minutes from the Chiangmai Airport on highway 1317, near Sankaempang Hot Springs. Chiangmai Highlands has a superbly maintained practice facility including several practice greens, a short game area and a superb 300 yard driving range with a grass tee. |
