The Melana Course

Designed by Peter Dalkeith Scott & Partners, it presents the ultimate challenge to golfers. The slightly shorter Par 72 Melana Course, at 6666 yards from the blue tees, with its undulating terrain and tropical vegetation reflects the very different style of Peter Scott.

Voted the No.1 Golf Course in Johor by the Business Times of Singapore, maintaining accuracy and reading the deceptive greens are the challenges players on the Melana Course are confronted with. The signature par three Sixth Hole which plays across a jungle ravine requires nerves of steel and nothing less or the ball will be lost! Aptly known as "The Challenge", the par five Fifteenth Hole starts off easily enough but narrows down enourmously towards the green and with water on both sides, both nerves and accuracy are challenged.

Coming in is only marginally less taxing with a 20-foot waterfall dissecting the lower half of the par four Eighteenth Fairway from the upper half. While many succumb to the water, they can take consolation in the spectacular view of the clubhouse.

The Pulai Course

The Pulai Course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr, an internationally acclaimed course designer who sets his seal of excellence with memorable signature holes.

Played from the tip at 7000 yards, the Trent Jones designed Pulai Course as a test for the best. The gold tees attract the low 80s shooter while the average player who exercises prudent course management can enjoy the whites at 6500 yards.

The front nine provides challenge in the form of a double green on the Third Hole (shared with the Sixth hole), a split fairway on the Seventh and a dramatic downhill run on the Ninth hole complete with waterside green requiring a very accurate approach. With water in play at 5 holes on the back nine, the primary task is to keep your ball dry. There is the do-or-die par three Hole Thirteen at which players tee off from island tees on to an island green, the heroic par four Sixteenth laden with bunkers all round the green from 80 yards out making it very difficult to play the lay up and finally the long par four Eighteenth shaped like a hook with water in the play up the entire left side.
