I was GRANDPAcking in Tablas Island for 8 nights. En route to Tablas, locals recommended that I go to Alcantara - so I did... and found the Aglicay Beach Resort. I rented a scooter from them and toured the island for 2 days. I covered 350kms in 19 hours. I investigated every bay, every beach, and every resort that I could find. I can honestly say that the Aglicay is the best value for money resort on the island. The setting is idyllic. The beach is beautiful. The swimming is good. The rooms are a reasonable price. The restaurant won't win an culinary awards and the room service could be better. But, overall, this is still the best beach resort on the island.
