Hotel Overview

The nine-hole golf course has a par of 35 and rated at 68.8 by the NGAP and having a slope of 119. Gliding the fairways are abundant 50-year old mango trees. Nestled strategically on the City of Gentle People, Bravo Golf Hotel is the only hotel in Dumaguete City with its own private golf course. Designed in 1945 by Don Serafin Teves and Simplicio Manictic. Popularly known as the Dumaguete Golf and Country Club, it was one of the earliest golf courses to be built in the country. Conveniently located just outside Dumaguete City, on a scenic, naturally rolling terrain where you can get a stunning panorama of Cebu, Siquijor and Sumilon Island along with the renowned Ta on Strait. The original golf course was built in 1945 by Don Serafin Teves and Simplicio Manicpic, an English professor at Siliman University. Known then as Dumaguete Golf and Country Club, it was one of the first golf courses built in the Philippines. Don Teves was himself an avid enthusiast of the sport and he played at the golf course well into his nineties. The golf course has long been a landmark of the province of Negros and is noted for its protected grove of 840 matured mango trees that gild the fairways. Built on a naturally rolling terrain, the course has a breathtaking panoramic view of Cebu, Siquijor and Sumilon islands, along with the famous marine reserve Ta on Strait. In 1996, Edilberto B. Bravo purchased the golf course. He had first played at the course in 1979, and had fallen in love with it back then. After several years of negotiations, the estate of Don Teves finally sold him the golf course in December of 1996. Now known as Bravo Resorts, it is the fourth hotel infrastructure project approved by TIEZA (Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority) in the Philippines. It has a four-star hotel classification. In 2015, Mr. Bravo engaged the services of renowned Japanese designer Youichi Nagato, the designer of well-known golf courses in Japan and the USA such as Yomiuri Golf Course (Tokyo), Crown Hills (Kyoto), Shin Raku Country Club (Shiga), Cherry Hills Golf Club (Hyogo), Mizuho Golf Club (Gifu), Shiga Country Club (Shiga), Japan Classic Country Club (Mie) and Kauai Island Lagoon Golf Course (Hawaii). With Mr. Nagato's expert guidance, the course has been reshaped and renovated from its original 9 holes to a full 18-hole course design. The shaping, backfilling, drainage and irrigation are nearly complete. In June 2016, the grassing of the golf course will begin and should be finished towards September 2016. It is our hope that it will be inaugurated and ready for play on February 2017. HOTEL POLICY: To avail Free Airport round trip transfers, Please contact the hotel and look for Ms. Cherie Mae Lopez at least 1 working day before the arrival/check in date and provide your flight details.
