Hotel Overview

Our Melting Pot hostel, otherwise known as OMP, has become the preferred accommodation option of budget travelers and backpackers who are making a pit stop in the Philippine capital. Our hostel is found in the heart of Makati City which is the financial and entertainment center of Metro Manila and the showcase city of the 17 cities in the Metropolis. OMP provides mixed-type dormitory bed & breakfast accommodation. The hostel has now transitioned from what used to be a one-bedroom hostel to a multi-room accommodation while retaining its characteristic vibe for anyone wishing to find a home away from home. OMP, being relatively new is modern, spacious and clean. It is conveniently located in the heart of Makati City. Its new location sits on top of the newest McDonald's showcase restaurant which will open in April 1, 2012. Come to OMP for the experience of sincere, personal feel of hosteling in the old fashioned, intimate, endearing way of Filipinos. You will cherish every moment you're in this hostel and wish you could stay longer.

Direction

Whether by taxi from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) or bus from Clark Airport, it is easy to reach our bed and breakfast. Makati City is approximately 30 to 45 minutes from NAIA, and 2 to 3 hours from Clark by bus. Travelers are advised to direct the taxi driver to A-Venue Mall, as they are more familiar with the commercial area and not the new Our Melting Pot location.

Our Melting Pot Hostel is in the 4th floor of an obscure building along Makati Avenue, but it is a haven for backpack and budget travelers. The rooms and common baths are clean and well maintained, and the staff are very friendly. You also get free breakfast, and have a chance to interact with the other guests in the morning over the breakfast table. Plus free internet, too. If you're the type who loves the nightlife, this is perfect. There is a night market right across the building, where you can enjoy dinner and music from a live band, and shopping too!

I think what made the hostel unique is the camaraderie build within mates. Their staff were very nice and friendly and their guests are even more accommodating. Most of their guest are tourist and I think I am the only Filipino guest at that time. The conversations about travel and anything under the sun paired with a little beer is priceless... and not to mention the value of money.. Who would have thought you can still find a hostel at less than 600 a day in the center of the city, including breakfast? Only in OMP I think..
