Hotel Overview

Bahay-Bakasyunan sa Camiguin is a tropical resort nestled in one of the Philippines' most captivating islands. Camiguin's natural heart is revealed in the unique setting of the resort, which highlights its quaintness and unparalleled beauty.

A place where you can go for quietude and privacy, enjoying the unique landscapes and breathtaking seascapes, sea and sun, Bahay-Bakasyunan is for those who want to revitalize their bodies and nurture their souls. This isolated island haven is perfect for getting away from it all. Bahay-Bakasyunan sa Camiguin (or Vacation House in Camiguin) is a 1.2-hectare resort right along the northern shores of the Mindanao Sea. Situated in Mambajao, the capital of Camiguin, the resort is conveniently close to the island’s most scenic spots. Bahay – as resort staff and guests fondly refer to it – was originally built precisely as a bahay-bakasyunan for visiting family members of the proprietor. However, in 1994, the simple bahay was transformed into one of the most charming resorts in Camiguin – with 12 rooms, a delightful pool area facing the sea, an extremely well-trimmed lawn dotted with coconut trees, delicious food and the same welcoming and relaxed atmosphere that it undoubtedly had as a family resthouse.

Once may opt to flex their muscles in our world class gym facilities. The beauty of the tropics engulfs you as you take in the view of a secluded waterfall, look to the spectacular Mindanao Sea, or feel the soft pristine sands under your feet. Stay in your very own cabana, with all the modern amenities to keep you comfortable while in paradise. Enjoy a bottle of great wine and fresh seafood at our bar and grill. The resort also offers many fun activities to engage in, like diving and other watersports. The beauty of neighboring White Island and Mantigue Island are just a boat ride away. One is never far from spiritual bliss as one visits our cabana spa. Find your own personal oasis and be pampered by our gentle therapists. End the day with a relaxing massage as you enjoy the romantic seascape at dusk.

The place is very beautiful and relaxing that you just wanna stay there all day long. We stayed the first night in their standard room and upgraded the next day to deluxe room. Their standard room are kinda old, but their deluxe room is superb.

Reception lady was kind to accommodate most our requests upon check-in. The resort provided our driver companions cheaper accommodations. They have these for nannies also. Our car had secured parking space within the resort property. As we were on a budget trip, our room accommodation was just appropriate for the rate. We enjoyed a good supply of FRESH towels, whenever we needed them inside the resort or even outside, thanks to Housekeeping staff! (forgot to complain about our room's water heater system as it was not functioning). Anyway, resto serves good pinoy food. They serve various cuisine plus coffee selections, but were not able to savor them. For an extra P100, our kids enjoyed the buffet breakfast. Just a bit slow on the refill though. Oh yes, we were able to take-out our breakfast as early as 5:15am for our trip to the White Island. They also loaded our coleman box with ICE, a must commodity for traveling in Camiguin. We also enjoyed the heated pool every night. BEST OF ALL, Bahay Bakasyunan is the "perfect vacation ambiance" in Camiguin. We enjoyed the place for its serene and quiet atmosphere (no bands, loud music), the beautiful landscape (coconut trees amidst nicely built Pinoy huts, lovely seascape and amazing sunrise! God is good! Thank you Bahay Bakasyunan, for making our trip worth it! (P.s. Hmmm, not so many people know about your place, from our part of the country. But we loaded photos on FB, now they know BB and will want to stay there, too)
